Conveyancing in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, Lincoln

Home Information Pack (HIP)

As of 21 May 2010, anyone selling a property will no longer be required to provide a Home Information Pack, known as a HIP.

First launched in 2007, the HIP was a set of documents designed to provide the buyer with key information about the property they wish to purchase.

However, under the Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition agreement, HIPs have now been suspended, meaning they are no longer a legal requirement. Sellers will still be required to commission an Energy Performance Certificate, known as an EPC, but they will no longer need to have received an EPC before they place their property on the market.

As a result, Burton & Dyson will no longer be offering a HIPs service to clients, with immediate effect.

We are, however, still able to offer clients all our other conveyancing services.
