New Head of Family Division at Burton & Dyson
Gainsborough solicitors Burton & Dyson have welcomed David Lee to the practice as the new head of their Family Department.
David is a solicitor with many years’ experience. He gained an honours degree in London, where he initially trained, before working at a general litigation practice in the South East, where he was eventually promoted to Partner.
He specialises in all aspects of family law, representing clients at all levels of the Court system from the Family Proceedings and Magistrates Courts to the Court of Appeal. He is a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association) - an organisation committed to assisting family lawyers to resolve disputes in a constructive and non-confrontational way.
He is also a Resolution-accredited specialist in Children Law Private and Advocacy Financial Provision, and is a member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s Children and Family Law advanced panels.
David said: “I’m pleased to be joining Burton & Dyson with its long and prestigious history of serving the community of Gainsborough and the wider area.
“I look forward to the challenges that face family lawyers in an ever-changing community and to being part of Burton & Dyson’s forward-thinking team, tackling the various legal issues faced by our clients and helping to meet their needs.”
In his spare time, David enjoys travel, reading, theatre and outdoor pursuits. He also has an interest in bee keeping and carpentry. He had a long association with Lincoln before relocating, his father having formed an association of RAF veterans who flew from a local Lincoln Airfield during World War II.
He replaces Sharon Lockwood at Burton & Dyson, who has left to take up a new post nearer to her home in Yorkshire.
Philip Westcott, Burton & Dyson’s Senior Partner, said: “I’m delighted to welcome David to our firm. He has a great deal of experience and knowledge in his field, and I know he will prove a real asset to the company and our clients.”
