Burton & Dyson celebrates its longevity!

Gainsborough-based firm of solicitors, Burton & Dyson, celebrated its 150th anniversary last week with a reception for clients and colleagues.

Friends and associates of the firm marked the milestone with drinks and canapés on May 27 at The Old Hall in Gainsborough where they toasted the firm’s success over the last century and a half.

The event was well-attended by staff, clients and representatives of various local bodies including the Mayor of Gainsborough and other members from Gainsborough Town Council. Peter Bishop, who has been with the firm for 43 years, entertained guests with a presentation about the firm’s former senior partners, dating back to its establishment in 1860, and a thank you presentation was given by the current senior partner, Philip Westcott.

Commenting on the celebrations, Philip said: “It is very impressive to think that as a firm we have been in business for 150 years, and are still going strong. It was a great reason to celebrate with clients, colleagues and other well-known local figures.

“It was a fantastic event and I am now looking forward to what the future holds for Burton and Dyson and I hope that through continued hard work and outstanding client care, we can ensure that the firm will still be here in another 150 years.”
