Client ID with Thirdfort

As a regulated business we have a legal obligation to verify the identity of all individuals we work with. To ensure that this is done in a safe and convenient way for you we use a market leading third party provider of ID checks, Thirdfort.

Evidence of Identity and Anti Money Laundering

Thirdfort provides a secure app based solution that allows clients to remotely verify their identity, taking away the need for you to bring in or send in original ID documents. The app is available on both IOS/Android smartphones and tablets and should take you no longer than 3-4 minutes.

You will a receive a text message invite to download and complete your Thirdfort checks.  If you have not already provided your mobile number, please let us have it so that we can send you the necessary link.

For property transactions, you will require your passport to complete the verification checks, please ensure that you have this to hand. If you do not have a passport, please contact us before you attempt the verification process.

If for whatever reason you encounter any difficulty with this then it remains an option for you to provide us with paper based original forms of identification in which case the following provisions will apply;

  • You must provide us with TWO original forms of identification in person that we can make copies of, or you can provide us with copies that have been certified by an accountable person, such as your bank or building society, accountant or doctor.
  • If you have not lived at your current address for 12 months, please provide us with details of your previous address.
  • Please see the list below for acceptable documents.

Recognising our statutory obligations to carry out these identification checks we will make a charge of £25 plus VAT for each verification carried out whether by Thirdfort or on a paper basis.

If we are not satisfied as to your identity, we have the right to cancel the Contract immediately on giving written notice to you.

Acceptable Documents List

Two separate forms of ID required.  One from each list

  • Photo ID must be current, valid and not expired
  • Certificates & Licenses must be valid for current year and not expired
  • Letters, documents & bills must be dated within 3 months

 Evidence of NAME

  • Passport
  • UK or EEA photo-card driving licence
  • benefit book or original notification letter from Benefits Agency
  • a current UK Bank Card with supporting evidence
  • current firearms or shotgun certificate
  • An official document showing National Insurance Number
  • Identified by Nursing Staff/Doctor

  Evidence of ADDRESS

  • UK or EEA photo-card driving licence
  • local council tax statement for current year
  • recent bank, building society, credit union statement or passbook
  • a recent original mortgage statement from a recognised lender
  • recent utility bill or statement (DO NOT accept mobile phone bills)
  • local council or housing association rent card /tenancy agreement
  • benefit book or original notification letter from Benefits Agency
  • Inland Revenue self-assessment statement or tax demand
  • house or motor insurance certificate for current year
  • record of any home visit made
